About Janet Warren Lane
I’m married to Bob Lane, pastored (now retired) for 27 years at a sweet and loving Southern Baptist church on the outskirts of a major city. I’m a retired public school teacher of 15 years. My husband and I have 4 children–3 daughters and 1 son. Our daughters are all married to ministers and our son is a missionary with the International Mission Board. Our children have blessed us with 10 grandchildren – 4 boys and 6 girls!
In my retirement years I have taken up writing and have written and illustrated a children’s book titled, The Missing Calf. I have adapted the parable of the lost sheep from Luke 15 to a story about a missing calf. Instead of a shepherd there’s a cowboy named Tex and his horse, Montana, who set out to track down a missing calf. My son’s
inspired the adaptation. So when he wanted me to tell him a story, it just seemed the thing to do to add a flavor of Texas. Interestingly, Montana was drawn in the likeness of a horse I owned in my young adult years, Goldie. At this time The Missing Calf is a legacy for my children and grandchildren. However, my dream is for it to be published-someday.

I must express some appreciation to the writer just for bailing me out of this scenario. Because of scouting through the online world and finding advice which are not productive, I assumed my life was over. Being alive without the presence of solutions to the problems you have fixed by means of your entire short post is a serious case, and the ones which may have in a negative way damaged my entire career if I had not discovered your web page. Your good natural talent and kindness in touching all the stuff was crucial. I’m not sure what I would’ve done if I hadn’t encountered such a point like this. I can at this time relish my future. Thank you very much for your skilled and result oriented help. I won’t think twice to propose the blog to anybody who desires guidance on this matter.
Brady, I read your comment now and then (it encourages me so) and I always wonder how you are doing. So today, I decided I would simply ask and find out. God bless you,
Janet! I’ve often wondered how you are and where you’ve gone over the years! I read your blog and I love the concept you’ve undertaken regarding the people of this world and their regression. I would love to have a copy of your book! I write, too, but haven’t found anyone to edit/publish them. I write short stories involving children, and always has a moral at the end of them. Working on the third in a series of historical romance, too. Would love to hear more from you! (In One Accord)
Hey Dottie, so good to hear from you. It’s a slow & difficult process trying to get published. While my efforts have been less than glorious I’ve found that as long as I keep my focus on following God’s lead rather than getting published then I have peace. And peace is more desired than getting published.
You can order my book online, just type in the title of the book & click on a site where you can order it. Or you can order it from me. Just send me your address. The book cost $10 + $3 for shipping. (Total of $13)
I sent you a reply (I thought) but not sure if it got posted. I self-published my book, Fiery Darts: Satan’s Weapon of Choice. I would love to send you a copy of it. The book costs $10 + $3 (shipping), $13. Or you could just order it from Amazon. Let me know which one you would prefer.
Thanks for following our blog. We are honored to have a praying missionary mom with us! I know the depth of heart that goes behind such prayers. The Lord bless you richly!
