God gave us the Bible because He knew we would need a guide book that would reveal Jesus to us, steer us through our daily lives and prepare us for our futures. In particular, the struggles of our day and what lies ahead. He knew we would need a guide book that would expose the lies that would be promoted as truth. He also knew this would build over time.
In the Bible, God warns us about the inversion of values and justifying sin, lies would be promoted as truth and truth would be promoted as lies. Mankind has reached that point, it seems to me. The Bible also reveals that mankind would continue being deceived and without the Bible, the guidebook, we would be oblivious to that deception. The less we know, the more deception we will succumb to.
Therefore, to stand against the enemy these days, will require Christians to be strong & knowledgeable warriors of Truth. Knowing how to wield the Sword of Truth victoriously. But are we? Too many of us are more informed in the latest technology than we are the truths of Scripture. Not even aware of the addictive pull of such technology that is slowly desensitizing us towards spiritual truths. For without the protective power of God’s wisdom found within the pages of the Bible, we are easy targets of the enemy.
The Bible describes some rather extreme scenarios of the future that move full speed ahead after the removal of the Church. (The progression of these scenarios is restrained at present due to the presence of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Christians.)
As the future unfolds, the need to grow in wisdom and understanding of God’s truth increases dramatically. More than ever before we will need to not only recognize the tactics of the enemy but we will need to know how to counter their attacks. Thus, if we ignore the Bible, we do so at our own peril. Because we won’t know what’s coming and we won’t be prepared.
But there is good news. A Christian walking towards this bleak future, does so informed and prepared if they have availed themselves to God’s instruction. It is the protective power of God’s wisdom that guards our daily walk of faith and allows us to gaze into the future and see hope!
The Protective Power of Wisdom
For the Lord grants wisdom!
From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
8 He guards the paths of the just
and protects those who are faithful to him.
9 Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,
and you will find the right way to go.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will fill you with joy.
11 Wise choices will watch over you.
Understanding will keep you safe.
12 Wisdom will save you from evil people,
from those whose words are twisted.
